The Vandy Vape Iconic comes in a grey and blue box with a cardboard sleeve over it. Slide the box out of the sleeve and in the foam insert you will see the Iconic atomizer with an installed resin drip tip and two spare Doc style drip tips. Pull the foam out of the box and underneath it, there is a baggie with a Hex key, Phillips screwdriver, and all of your spare parts, as well as a squonking pin.
What’s In The Box:
1 x Iconic RDA with Resin Drip Tip (pre-installed)
1 x Derlin Doc Tip
1 x Frosted Doc Tip
1 x Squonk Pin
1 x Accessory Bag
1 x User Manual
The Iconic is a collaboration between Mike Vapes, a very popular YouTube reviewer and Vandy Vape. This is the second RDA that Mike has made in conjunction with Vandy Vape.
Drip Tip Options:
The Iconic comes with 3 drip tip options. When you open the box you will notice that your taller resin drip tip is installed. All of the drip tips are 18 mm wide you will notice that the resin drip tip is a little taller at 7.42 mm. The two spare drip tips included in the box are Doc style drip tips. One is frosted and the other one is black. All three of the included drip tips are Goon or 810 compatible. If all of those choices do not suit your needs, there is also a 510 drip tip adapter included in the spare parts package. This will allow you to use any 510 drip tip on your Iconic.
The Top Cap/Barrel:
The Iconic RDA features a one piece top cap and barrel. The barrel has three airflow slots on either side of the RDA. The first airflow slot is for side airflow and it features a cyclops shaped slot. There are also two bottom airflow slots located below the cyclops air slots, they are cut in the shape of an oval. This is for your bottom airflow and both of these cut outs coincide with airflow slots on the circumference of the base. The interior of the top cap has a conical design to it for superior flavor.
The deck on the Iconic features a spring loaded clamp system. It is a two post, two terminals per post, design. The terminals are staggered with the lower terminals in the middle of the deck. The clamping system looks like an upside down L. Your leads are secured to the terminals by two combination Phillips/Flathead screws. If you are into a more clean look on your build deck, than you can opt to use the spare Hex terminal screws that are provided.
The juice well is extremely spacious at 7.5 mm. The reason the juice well has so much space is because of the air flow tubes that are located on the interior of the deck. They are slanted up and away from the bottom of the juice well, giving the vaper more room for juice and a more direct airflow underneath their coils. The air flow tubes are reminiscent of two exhaust pipes that are aimed right at the bottom of your coil, for maximum flavor. The airflow tubes, because of the way they are positioned, do a great job of preventing leaks.
The base of the Iconic has two o’rings on the bottom of it that secure the top cap to it. The tolerance on the two o’rings is just right and there are spares included in the spare parts bag. Right above the 2 o’rings on either side of the RDA, is where you will find your 2 bottom, oval shaped, airflow slots. Above the bottom airflow slots is a cut out that slants upward. This will direct your side air flow from the cyclops shaped slot, up into the coil for maximum flavor and clouds.
On the bottom of the base you will find some Vandy Vape branding as well as some Mike Vapes branding. There is also a Phillips head negative post screw and a gold plated 510 pin. The Iconic RDA is serialized. The base is 24 mm in diameter and the when the whole RDA is assembled it is 25 mm in length.
The 510 Connection:
The 510 connection on the Iconic is gold plated and fully adjustable. There is also an included squonking pin as well as a hex key for installation. The squonking pin protrudes from the interior of the base to insure the juice you just squonked, stays in the juice well and does not settle back into the squonk bottle.
No matter which 510 pin you decide to use there is an insulator ring around the 510 connection. On the bottom of the base there is a removable Phillips head negative post screw. This enables the user to take the whole RDA apart for easy cleaning.
